A Little About Us!

I’ve been making soap for over a decade. At first, making it was out of personal need, but then I found myself also making soap for friends and family. The entire reason I started making soap was that I was beginning to suffer from some unsettling skin conditions. One trip to the dermatologist, and the switch to one bar of limited ingredient soap later, I realized that I was sensitive to the dyes and ingredients commercial skincare used in their products, and that relief for me came when I started using products with limited ingredients that I could read and understand on the label. I learned right then and there to make my own soap so that I always knew that clean and natural ingredients were used.

Fast forward to 2019, I started Tub and Bubble out of our tiny Louisiana home, and brought my bars to farmers markets, and to preach the gospel of natural skincare. Tub and Bubble was so small then, but we were able to earn a small cult following of loyal customers. At that time, the small local, colloquial world of the New Iberia Farmer’s Market was all I knew, and all I cared to know as a business owner, save for the occasional sale on online platforms. People liked my products, and said over and over again  how good it smelled, and how great it felt on their skin.

A few years and one major move later, I found my roots planted firmly in Kansas soil. A bigger house and a dedicated workshop meant I was able to further hone my craft and bring my beautiful products to new markets with new faces, and not just new patrons! A terrific and stalwart husband encouraged me to take the plunge, and follow my heart. “Quit your day job, “ he’d say. “You’re miserable. Do what you know you love!”

And so, terrified out of my mind and with trembling fingers I put in my two weeks notice. Now Tub and Bubble is at the forefront of everything I do, along with its commitment to natural luxury skincare. Not much has changed about the reason why we make Soap and Skincare the way we do. It’s still of the utmost importance that our products be made as naturally as possible with ethically sourced ingredients that are gentle on the planet.

Most recently, with the networks and resources now available to us in the Midwest, we are moving to be even MORE environmentally conscious, by choosing to source ingredients from local sources whenever we can. It all comes full circle to the idea of knowing what your ingredients are. It’s even better when you know exactly where they came from.

We invite you to come along with us to this crossroads of luxury skincare, and natural ingredients. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for choosing Tub and Bubble for your skincare needs!

Sincerely,

Caitlin Jockell
